    Autumn 2010

    Thank you to everyone who sponsored me in the Brighton Marathon in April. I completed the race in 4 hours 29 seconds - with no stops! The proceeds from this and the charity recital in July with Laurence Cummings raised £2,000 for International Alert!

  • Magid is giving a recital in aid of the UK's leading peacebuilding charity International Alert, with world-famous harpsichordist Laurence Cummings on Friday 23 July, 7:30 pm at St. Gabriel's Church, Warwick Square, Pimlico SW1V.

    Tickets cost £15/12.50 concessions and you can buy them here:

    The programme will consist of beautiful Baroque music by Purcell, Handel, Bach and Rameau, covering the themes of war and peace (clever, huh?) all in aid of the UK’s leading peacebuilding charity. All proceeds will help support local communities that have been affected by violent conflict to improve their prospects for a peaceful future.

    Magid wins top prize at the Concorso Musica Sacra, in Rome, 8.11.2008

  • Autumn 2008 sees the release of FIVE new recordings featuring Magid El-Bushra.
  • 24th November sees the UK release of Duruflé's Requiem on the Harmonia Mundi label, which features Magid singing the Pie Jesu.

  • Alpha Records recording of J.S. Bach's Mass in G and Mass in A, with Ensemble Pygmalion directed by Raphaël Pichon and featuring Magid singing the alto solos, has been awarded a Diapason d'Or - Découverte in France's Diapason magazine.

  • Ricercar Records recording of Caccini's Euridice, with Scherzi Musicali directed by Nicolas Achten, and featuring Magid in the roles of La Tragedia and Dafne, has been awarded five stars in France's Diapason magazine.

  • Soupir Records will shortly release Klaus Huber's Miserere Hominibus, featuring Magid, with Les Jeunes Solistes, directed by Rachid Safir.
  • Waon Records (Japan) will shortly release Baroque Dialogues, a CD of early baroque English duets and arias, featuring Magid and the ensemble La Sfera Musicale.
